BMW provides classic minis and the future recharged and refilled

No, we are not talking about mini cooper SE based on a new mini hatch that the BMW parent company was launched in the 2000s. We refer to the Constitutional Court to MK VII Mini Cooper sold starting in 1959, the original classic mini. In the latest press release, BMW has launched a mini project that is refilled intended for existing mini owners who want to change the vintage mini car, their gas-powered gas becomes an all-electric model.

“What the project team developed maintained a classic mini character and allowed its fans to enjoy all-electricity performance,” said Bernd Körber, head of the mini brand. The brand was involved in electrification with a mini electric mini-off launched in 2018. The car pulled a positive reaction in the New York Auto Show, so the team at Mini Plant Oxford worked to develop a blueprint for the latest restomodas.

The plan is as easy as it sounds. Unbolt old gas and transmission machines, and replace with electrical drivetrain consisting of a single electric motor and high-voltage batteries. We initially thought BMW referred to 181-horsepower electric motors in the new Cooper SE. However, the mini rechargeable has a poor 90 kW power unit produces around 121 horsepower – not bad for mini cars.

Motor drawing power from a battery pack that is still not determined, which is able to receive charging up to 6.6 kW and eking out 99 km (160 km). “By refilling the mini, we connect the past with the future of the brand,” Körber added. Other changes include a new central instrument panel with a specific display for the range, vehicle speed, transmission teeth, and drives temperatures.

With new Powertrain EV, the refilled mini can accelerate from zero to 60 mph in nine seconds, about two seconds slower than the modern cooper. But what last does not have is the iconic DNA styling from Isigonic Mini Designers. Unless you have lived under rock, everything retro back in style, and we think the classic mini owner will appear in Droves for mini refill conversions.

The best news? The whole refill process is fully reversible. BMW promises that each original machine will be carefully marked and stored for future retrofits. Oh, and the conversion of gas to electricity does not require new vehicle registration (local state laws may apply). Prices remain without notice, but we expect conversion to cost around £ 25,000 or around $ 33,693.
